DPD Today and Night Deliveries – new DPD Polska services
10 October 2018 - DPD Polska has introduced new B2B services – DPD Today and Night Deliveries. Thanks to these solutions, both small and large shops can significantly improve their logistics process flow and provide fast delivery of ordered items, even on the day the order was placed.
DPD Today – same day delivery
DPD Today targets mainly e-shops. The consignors can send their parcels in dedicated DPD Pickup points in Warsaw. The parcels are then delivered to consignees on the same day. This service is provided on weekdays.
The solution is currently available in Warsaw, but it will be gradually rolled out in other cities. Within the DPD Today service, the customers can also benefit from additional options such as payment upon delivery by BLIK or by card. "Polish e-commerce market is expanding rapidly and these days we can’t imagine life without online shopping. It is natural that the consumers want to receive their orders as soon as possible. DPD Today offers new opportunities to the online shops who are our clients. The service was introduced a few weeks ago and we have already noticed the increase of competitive advantage of e-shops, because the buyers receive their orders within few hours" says Łukasz Zembowicz, Sales and Marketing Director, Board Member, DPD Polska.
Night Deliveries – improved working conditions the next day
Night Deliveries are another novelty in the DPD Polska portfolio of services. The service was inspired by the long-standing co-operation with the fashion industry. It is aimed primarily to large enterprises operating in various industries and conducting sales activities in physical stores. The goods are delivered to the shop by an authorised courier at night (between 10.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m.). The courier’s duty is to unload the goods in accordance with specifications received from the shop. Thanks to such solution the shop’s employees do not have to spend time on stocking up during working hours, since the delivery and unloading is completed at night and does not require their participation. The shop can save time and improve its organisation, since the employees do not have to be involved in unloading and arranging the delivered items in the store room.
"This idea was based on observation of clothing chains trends, where the goods are regularly delivered at night from the central warehouse to the outlets. Adapting this delivery model in shops from other sectors facilitates our clients’ logistic processes. The goods are placed in store rooms even before the opening hour, so that the employees have more time to prepare the shop for the beginning of the business day. It is a change of delivery process which significantly increases organisation and working conditions of the physical shop employees" says Łukasz Zembowicz.
